One of the most crucial components of any good party is the food. In fact, for many, the food is often considered the highlight of the night and it’s important to get it right the first time. While you might be considering the idea of creating a long and complicated dinner party for your guests, we can’t overlook the simplicity and ease of finger foods.
Not only are they easier to share, but party finger foods are fantastic for helping guests mingle while they’re at your party. Whether you turn finger foods into the highlight of the night or use them as starters before the main course, here are a couple of easy finger foods that will help you create the perfect party.
Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers
There’s nothing quite as indulgent as a large jalapeno pepper filled to the brim with cream cheese. Of course, it needs something a little crispy and exciting on the top to finish it off, so consider adding crispy bacon, fries or even some crumbly breadcrumbs. If you want to make it a little more exciting, consider serving up plain jalapeno poppers with just cream cheese, and offering small dishes with toppings so that your guests can pick out what they want and customise their own.
Chipotle Black Bean Cakes
Planning a vegan course for your party or want to impress your vegan friends? Why not consider making some chipotle black bean cakes? They’re delicious, they’re simple to make and you can top them with generally anything that sounds good. Chopped tomatoes, guacamole and other vegetables are a fantastic fresh choice to go with the crumbly insides.
Sliders are really just small burgers, making them excellent as bite-sized appetisers and finger foods. However, why just offer one type of slider when you can make it easy for your guests to create their own? Put some toasted buns, different patties, sauces and vegetables on a tray and let your guests make their own sliders. However, you may want to set out some pre-made ones as well for the guests that really aren’t too picky (or too lazy to make their own!).
The marriage between sweet and salty is a difficult one to show off, so what we’d recommend is a stuffed apricot. Apricots are sweet, juicy and the perfect shape to hold a filling such as cream cheese. You can sprinkle them with some nuts or perhaps even honey. There are plenty of options to choose from, and you can even keep them all sweet if you want and omit the salty and crunchy textures.
Mini Corn Dogs
Every party needs at least some kind of greasy food, and mini corn dogs are a fantastic idea. Not only do they come conveniently with their own little sticks to hold them by, but they can easily be dipped into a variety of sources to create unique flavour combinations that work wonderfully with the crunchy shell and meaty insides of a classic corn dog.
